Actuators are devices that control the opening and closing of a valve. Actuators can be attached to different valves to allow for precise control without needing to attend to the valve manually. The most common valve actuators derive power from compressed air or electric current. Electric actuators provide precise accuracy and control, are easily programmable and offer great efficiency. Pneumatic actuators rely on compressed air, and offer simplicity and speed. Double Acting Pneumatic Actuators offer continuous variable valve positions, whereas spring return actuators provide immediate failsafe shutoff in the event of failure.
